Interactive Tutorial: Training a Small GridFM with APPFL on AWS

This tutorial will provide a hands-on introduction to using the Argonne’s open-source privacy-preserving federated learning framework (APPFL) for training a small GridFM model on Amazon Web Services (AWS), enabling model trains without data sharing. Participants will learn how to set up APPFL in a distributed environment, configure federated learning experiments, and monitor training performance in real time. The session is designed to be interactive, with opportunities for participants to follow along, experiment with the code, and gain first-hand experience running APPFL on AWS.
