Bridging AI Applications to Grid Operations: LCRA’s Perspectives

As one of major transmission utilities and wholesale generation providers within the Texas Grids and ERCOT market, LCRA strives to provide affordable, reliable, and resilient transmission and energy services to customers. This requires us to integrate our various existing control room environments into a single common operating picture with advanced analytics, intelligence, and visualization. This presentation will discuss LCRA’s preliminary or potential AI use cases to enhance our control room operation analytics and situational awareness capabilities against extreme weather events and review emerging challenges on managing the risks of real-time data security and cyber security threats with penetration of common AI software platforms and AI Agent applications.
